| Oct 03 - Intec achieve GCAT Subcontractor accreditation |
|
As a result of recent work in the Public Sector, Intec are delighted to announce that they have achieved GCat subcontractor status through IBM.
GCat is a catalogue based procurement scheme originally established by CCTA (now part of OGC) in 1996. It is designed to provide public sector organisations with a simplified means of procuring, and contracting for a wide range of IT and Telecommunications products and related services.
Procuring IT and Telecommunications products and related services can be a time-consuming and costly process both for purchasers and prime contractors. GCat reduces the time and costs associated with procurement by offering a pre-tendered call off facility. The scheme provides the following benefits:
1. Compliance with EC procurement legislation
2. Ability to call off urgent requirements quickly
3. Competitive prices
4. Wide choice of products and services
5. Ease of ordering
6. Sound contractual protection based on best practice
7. E-commerce facilities
8. Comprehensive management information
GCat offers Customers rapid access to a greater breadth of choice of prime contractors and products whilst being fully compliant with EC procurement procedures. It allows the Customer to deal direct with prime contractors or use the services of a Value Added Reseller, such as Intec should this best suit their requirements.
Intec are proud to have achieved this accreditation. Should you wish to find out more about GCat please click here
