It’s publicly official now. Barry Rosen has confirmed that Domino 10.0.1 will be released next week with the Domino Server Community Edition and the Notes Client Community Edition. The Notes / Domino / Administrator client has been free for some time, but there was no public download of V10 available. Barry did great work ensuring a free Domino Server Community Edition for Domino 9.0.1 FP8 while at IBM. To be honest, this should have been the way developers develop for some time, especially for XPages – working against a locally installed Domino server. With the Node.js extensions of the App Dev Pack, that’s now even more critical. Andrew Manby had previously confirmed at the launch event in UK that a community edition would be available before the end of the year. Barry has confirmed it will be next week.
10.0.1 brings some bug fixes (a few XPages partial refreshes have been affected by 10.0.0) and brings DQL to LotusScript and Java. I’m sure details of other fixes will be detailed on the Fix List.
