Tonight I installed the latest version of the Extension Library, or tried to. I installed it into Domino Designer first, then, after the restart, tried to import it into the Update Site template. But whether I imported as a local update site or imported the features, I got an object variable not set error. Because it uses a dialog box I could not see what the problem was in debug. A brief investigation of the design left me a little puzzled because the import is not an agent, a view action, a shared action and doesn’t appear to be in a page. At that point, rather than dig deeper, I reached out to the community and Paul Calhoun came up with the answer.
If you hit this problem, try closing Designer, closing Notes, then restarting just Notes. For whatever reason, it worked.
UPDATE
IBM are aware of the issue, which seems to be something to do with form events not being fired (the code relies on Initialize and Postopen events in the form for the dialog box). The impact of Designer wasn’t known, and hopefully will help isolate the cause.
