With December just around the corner, it’s now that time of year when the days rapidly disappear towards IBM Think. This year it’s February 12-15 (Tuesday to Friday) in San Francisco, with the IBM Community Day preceding it. There is already a lot planned and many sessions finalised, but more announcements will come and more ICS sessions yet to be revealed. There are a host of details on a Collaboration Solutions at IBM Think page.

Community Day, Monday

As last year, there will be an ICS Community Day on February 11th. This was a great opportunity last year to get to meet the wider IBM community. As Domino moves beyond the traditional boundaries, now more than ever is the time to make those connections. Plus we’ll find out who the new IBM Lifetime Champions are. I look forward to maker better use of the day to reach beyond current friends and acquaintances.

Collaboration Solutions Community Day, Tuesday

On Tuesday, from 8.30am – 2pm is the Collaboration Solutions Community Day, a “conference within a conference” like last year. The venue is the Hilton Union Square Ballroom. This will be the place to hear the key announcements about ICS strategy and roadmap. Some areas have been more vibrant than others since IBM Think 2018, so it will be important to hear everything.

This will be followed by the Chairman’s Address and Campus Grand Opening. From what I’ve seen already, the layout for IBM Think looks great.

Node-RED for ICS Developers, Wednesday 5:30 – 6:10, Yosemite A 11:30 – 12:10, Yosemite C, Hilton Union Square

NOTE: Venue and time have changed for my session

On Wednesday things kick off big time, including my session late on Wednesday. Those who have followed my blog will know I have been passionate about the strengths of Node-RED for some time now, and this is the year for ICS developers to embrace it. As well as showcasing some reasons to use it, I’ll be giving an overview of history and futures and diving into setting up Node-RED for development while also covering some aspects important for production.

ICS at Think Evening Reception, Wednesday

A special ICS reception has been arranged on Wednesday evening at SPiN San Francisco, just round the corner from Moscone Center. Note that the event is invitation only, so you need to have selected “Collaboration” as your area of interest.

Think By The Bay, Thursday

In a big coup, the Thursday night event sees IBM take over the iconic Pier 39. This is bound to be an event not to be missed.

Wth slides due imminently and demos to be created, it’s sure to be a busy time between now and IBM Think. I’m sure there will be a lot of news about Domino V11, particularly coming out of the Domino V11 Jams planned for January and recently announced. If you’re involved with Domino and there is an event close by, I would strongly encourage anyone to get involved.
